Simple process

How to use the Reddit Image downloader

An image post is different from a Reddit video or a preview cover. This tool identifies the original i.redd.it image URLs exposed by a public post.

  1. Illustrative Reddit screen for step 1
    1

    Copy the post link

Copy the link to a public Reddit image post.

  2. Illustrative Reddit screen for step 2
    2

    Browse the photos

Check and preview the original images found in the post.

  3. Illustrative Reddit screen for step 3
    3

    Save one or all

Save one image, or download all images as a ZIP when several are available.

Screens are illustrative. Available media and delivery times depend on the public source.

Built for Reddit Image links

See the same three stages on a larger screen. Each example is captured from this website.

Link entry screen for Reddit Image

01 / Paste

Start with the right Reddit Image link

Open the individual post, not the subreddit feed or a profile. Share → Copy link works for short Reddit links; the site resolves that link to the actual post before asking for image metadata.

Preview: numbered image grid for Reddit Image

02 / Choose

See the images in post order

The preview grid follows gallery order. The checked source is an original i.redd.it image URL, not a screenshot of the page or a small feed thumbnail. External image hosts are not silently presented as Reddit originals.

Download controls for Reddit Image

03 / Save

Download one image or the full ZIP

Use the arrow on an image to save it alone. If a post exposes multiple supported images, Download all prepares a ZIP in order. This bounded image path does not upload the media to private video storage.

Transparent by design

No stored copy

Images stream only when requested through a bounded same-origin route. No video transfer, transcoding, R2 upload, or permanent image storage is required. A multi-image ZIP is assembled on demand with per-image and archive byte limits.

Works everywhere

Download on any device

Use a public individual post or Reddit share link. The source metadata identifies each Reddit-hosted image in post order. If only a resized preview is exposed, the tool does not rename that preview as an original image.

iPhone & iPad

Tap Share, then Copy link. Downloads appear in Safari and the Files app.

Android

Tap Share → Copy link. Find the finished image in Downloads or your browser.

Desktop

Open the individual post, copy its address, then check your Downloads folder.

Why choose this tool

Clear choices, real source quality

Original-source selection, ordered gallery support, bounded image streaming, and clear failures avoid misleading “HD” claims or partial posts.

Supported platforms

What this page supports

Public Reddit posts with original JPEG, PNG, or WebP images hosted on i.redd.it. External-host posts, private communities, removed content, GIF/video media, and inaccessible images are unsupported.

Frequently asked questions

Helpful answers

Will I receive the original image?

Only when Reddit exposes a direct original i.redd.it URL for the public post. Preview-only variants are not relabeled as originals.

Can I save every photo from a gallery?

When the public metadata lists supported Reddit-hosted images, they appear in post order and an ordered ZIP option is provided. Missing or private items cannot be recovered.

Does an image post need video processing?

No. The metadata check identifies image URLs, and only the selected image bytes travel through the download route.

Why does an Imgur link fail?

Imgur is a separate host with different URLs and access rules. This tool is for images Reddit itself hosts on i.redd.it.

Can I use a private or login-only link?

No. GalaxyFetch handles only media that the source exposes publicly without an account. It never asks for your password, session cookie, or private-profile access.

Does downloading give me permission to reuse the file?

No. Save only media you own or have permission to use. Copyright and the source platform rules still apply.

Where will the file go?

Desktop browsers normally save to Downloads. Android uses Downloads or the browser download list. On iPhone and iPad, check Safari Downloads and the Files app.

Why might the download fail?

The post may be removed, restricted by region or age, require a login, or the source may temporarily refuse automated access. A public-looking page is not always a public media file.
